Ryan Page, Vassalboro, Maine, Driver Dies in Head-On Crash on Route 3 in Vassalboro.

According to the Maine State Police, troopers from the Central Field Troop responded to a collision at approximately 3:40 p.m. near Ritch Road. The crash involved two vehicles in a head-on collision and was followed by a secondary incident involving a third vehicle.

Authorities said the first crash occurred when a Chevy Silverado pickup truck, driven by 48-year-old Ryan Page of China, crossed the center line and collided with a Ford F-650 commercial vehicle driven by 64-year-old Douglas Boivin of Jay. Boivin reportedly attempted to steer to avoid the pickup but could not prevent the collision.

Tragically, Ryan Page was pronounced dead at the scene. Boivin was not injured.

Shortly after the initial collision, a third vehicle swerved to avoid the pickup truck, which had come to rest in the roadway, and struck a guardrail. That driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Authorities said the crash is still under investigation as they work to determine the circumstances leading up to the incidents. Maine State Police emphasized the importance of careful driving and road safety, especially on busy routes like Route 3.

Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including the Traffic Safety Unit and the Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit of the Maine State Police, as well as Vassalboro Fire and Rescue, Augusta Fire and Rescue, and Delta Ambulance. Their coordinated response helped secure the scene, assist those involved, and ensure the road was cleared safely.
