According to the Chatham County Police Department, Davis was en route to the school for a teacher training day when her vehicle was struck in a collision on Whitefield Avenue near the Truman Parkway around 7:20 a.m. Emergency personnel transported her to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
The driver involved, 38-year-old Oscar Vasquez-Lopez, was arrested by Chatham County Police and charged with homicide and reckless driving.
