Jennifer Talley, Man Charged with Murder Following Fatal Shooting in North Calera.
Authorities in Calera are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday night at a residence in North Calera. According to the Calera Police Department, officers responded to a report of a shooting on The Heights Drive on February 12. Upon arrival, they located 23-year-old Jennifer Talley of Calera, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police said investigators quickly identified a suspect in the case. Noah Hendricks was later taken into custody in Clanton and has been charged with murder in connection with Talley’s death. He was transported to the Shelby County Jail.
Calera Police Chief David Hyche stated that the incident involved individuals who were in a domestic relationship.
“This incident involved a domestic relationship, which is the case in the vast majority of violent crimes we see,” Hyche said in a statement. He also emphasized the importance of seeking help in situations involving domestic violence.
Hyche noted that the city has a Victim Services Coordinator available to assist individuals experiencing domestic abuse. The coordinator can help connect victims with resources and support services.
Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Officials remind the public that a criminal charge is an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
