Javier Valdovinos, Trumbull Man Dies Following Tree-Cutting Accident at Home.

Authorities say a man has died following a tree-cutting accident at a residence in Trumbull earlier this week.

According to the Trumbull Police Department, emergency crews responded to a home on White Plains Road around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a report of a serious incident involving tree-cutting.

When officers and paramedics arrived at the scene, they found Javier Valdovinos, 66, who had sustained critical injuries. Despite efforts by emergency personnel to provide assistance, authorities determined that he had already passed away before crews reached the location.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicates that Valdovinos had been working on cutting a large tree limb at the time of the incident. During the process, he reportedly became trapped between the limb and the tree.

Officials noted that two other residents were inside the home at the time of the accident and immediately contacted emergency services after realizing what had happened.

Investigators say the situation appears to be an accident, but authorities are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the incident to confirm the details.

Following standard procedure, Valdovinos’ body was transferred to the Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for further examination.

Tree-cutting and yard work involving large branches can pose serious safety risks, particularly when heavy limbs or equipment are involved. Safety experts often recommend using proper equipment and assistance when handling large trees or branches.

Local officials have not released additional information as the investigation remains ongoing.

Authorities say updates may be provided once the review of the incident is complete.

As investigations continue, what safety precautions do you think homeowners should take when performing tree-cutting work around their property? 🌳
