Jason Carreon, Odessa Man Dies Following Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 176.
A 28-year-old Odessa man died Friday evening after a crash on State Highway 176, according to authorities. The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the collision occurred around 5 p.m. Officials identified the driver as Jason Carreon, who was traveling southeast in a 2021 Ford F-350.
Investigators said a 2010 Ford F-150 was traveling in the opposite direction on SH 176 at the time of the incident.
According to preliminary findings from Texas DPS, the Ford F-350 experienced a front left tire blowout. Authorities stated that the driver then lost control of the vehicle, which crossed into the northwest lane and collided with the oncoming Ford F-150 before overturning.
Carreon was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
Information regarding the condition of the other driver has not been released. Authorities have not indicated whether weather or additional roadway factors contributed to the crash.
