WAUKEGAN, ILLINOIS — Authorities have identified the man who died following a police-involved shooting over the weekend in Waukegan, according to officials.
Waukegan police said officers were called to a home in the 100 block of Leith Avenue shortly before 3 p.m. on Saturday after receiving a report involving a man experiencing a serious personal crisis. Officers responded to the scene to assess the situation and provide assistance.
Police have not released details about what occurred during the interaction between officers and the man inside the residence. Officials said only that the incident resulted in officers discharging their weapons.

The individual was later identified by officials as a 58-year-old Waukegan resident. His name was released after appropriate notification procedures were followed.
