Gregory Kurecki, Pedestrian Identified After Fatal Crash on Highway 90.
Authorities have identified a man who died after being struck by a vehicle early Wednesday morning while attempting to cross Highway 90.
According to police, 60-year-old Gregory Kurecki was crossing the roadway around 5:15 a.m. when he was hit by a car. The incident occurred between Bellingrath Road and Old Rock Road, near Bubba’s Package Store.
Officials reported that emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the crash. Kurecki was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries.
Neighbors told investigators that Kurecki had a disability and was using a walker at the time of the incident. Authorities have not confirmed additional details about the circumstances leading up to the collision.
