Colby Chase, Motorcyclist Identified After Fatal Crash Near Edwin Warner Park.
Authorities have identified a motorcyclist who died following a crash Saturday evening near Edwin Warner Park in Bellevue.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the collision occurred around 6 p.m. in the 7300 block of Highway 100. Officials said 22-year-old Colby Chase was riding a motorcycle when it collided with the driver’s side of an SUV.
Police reported that the SUV driver told investigators he was making a left turn out of the park at the time of the crash and did not see the motorcycle approaching. Authorities confirmed that no one inside the SUV was injured.
Investigators also stated that a second motorcyclist sustained minor injuries after laying down his bike in an attempt to avoid the collision. He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Chase was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the crash, police said.
The circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation. Authorities have not announced whether any charges are pending at this time.
Officials are continuing to review evidence and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the Metro Nashville Police Department.
