Arthur L. Brackett, Madison Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash in Franklin County.
Authorities are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in Franklin County, Alabama, that claimed the life of a Madison resident.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the crash occurred Thursday evening on Alabama Highway 24 near the five-mile marker, about three miles east of Red Bay.
The victim, identified as 62-year-old Arthur L. Brackett of Madison, was a passenger in the vehicle. Officials reported that the vehicle left the roadway and overturned. Brackett was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Authorities did not release additional details regarding the driver’s condition.
ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is now handling the investigation into the circumstances that led to the crash. No further information has been released at this time.
Officials remind drivers and passengers of the importance of wearing seatbelts and exercising caution while traveling, especially on rural highways.
