Alex Rodriquez Hines Obituary, Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash Under Investigation in Oxon Hill.
The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Friday morning in Oxon Hill, according to authorities.
Police said officers responded around 4:30 a.m. on February 27, 2026, to a two-vehicle collision near Indian Head Highway and the Capital Beltway overpass.
Preliminary findings indicate that one vehicle was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Indian Head Highway as it approached the overpass. For reasons that remain under investigation, that vehicle collided with a southbound vehicle driven by 24-year-old Alex Rodriquez Hines of Bryans Road.
Hines was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities confirmed.
The driver of the second vehicle was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening.
Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash. Officials have not released additional details at this time as the investigation remains active.
