Kaleb Isabell, Man Dies After Late-Night Shooting at Crawfordsville Park.
Authorities in Crawfordsville are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday night at a local park.
According to the Crawfordsville Police Department, officers were dispatched around 9:55 p.m. to Milligan Park after the Montgomery County Central Communications Center received a 911 call reporting that a person had been shot during an altercation.
When officers arrived, they found Kaleb Isabell, 31, of Rockville, with a gunshot injury. Police said he was transported to Franciscan Health Crawfordsville for treatment. Despite medical efforts, authorities confirmed that he later died.
Investigators said officers quickly located and detained several persons of interest following the incident. However, police have not yet announced whether those individuals will face charges or clarified what role they may have played in the shooting.
Officials say the investigation remains active as detectives continue gathering evidence and speaking with witnesses.
The police department also reassured residents that there is no ongoing threat to the community. However, authorities noted that Milligan Park may be temporarily closed at times in the coming days as investigators continue examining the area for additional evidence.
Updates about any park closures will be shared through the City of Crawfordsville’s official Facebook page, according to officials.
Several agencies assisted with the response and investigation, including the Crawfordsville Fire Department, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Indiana State Police, and the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
