Tatanula Lewis, Woman Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle in North Omaha.
Authorities in Omaha have identified a woman who was killed in a traffic incident Saturday evening. The Omaha Police Department reports the crash occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. near 40th and Cuming streets.
Police say a pickup truck traveling westbound on Cuming Street struck 50-year-old Tatanula Lewis, who was crossing the street at the time. A passerby provided emergency assistance until first responders arrived, but Lewis later passed away at a local hospital.
The driver of the pickup remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Officers indicated that Lewis was walking on or near the crosswalk when the incident occurred.
