William Elting, Boone County Authorities Investigate Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 62/65.
Officials have confirmed that a 70-year-old Harrison man died following a three-vehicle crash Monday morning in Boone County, Arkansas.
According to a crash summary released by the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, the collision occurred around 8:35 a.m. on February 16 along U.S. Highway 62 and 65.
Authorities identified the deceased as William Elting of Harrison. Investigators reported that Elting was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado northbound when his vehicle entered the southbound lanes. The truck then collided with a 2024 Ram 2500 driven by another motorist.
Officials stated that the impact caused the second vehicle to be pushed into a third vehicle, a 2014 Ram 2500 driven by 54-year-old Eric Kirk.
Elting was pronounced deceased as a result of the crash. Authorities confirmed that his next of kin has been notified.
Kirk sustained injuries and was transported to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center for treatment. The condition of the other driver involved has not been released.
The crash was investigated by the Harrison Police Department. Officials have not shared additional details regarding potential contributing factors as the investigation continues.
Law enforcement reminds drivers to remain attentive while traveling on highways and to exercise caution, particularly on multi-lane roadways where traffic flows in opposite directions.
