Sydney Jones, One Person Killed, Two Injured in Morning Crash in Baltimore County.
Baltimore County police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that left one person dead and two others injured Thursday morning.
According to authorities, the collision occurred around 7:30 a.m. in the area of Old Court Road and Harden Lane. Officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a serious crash involving two vehicles.
Preliminary findings indicate that a 2016 Nissan Rogue was traveling westbound on Old Court Road when it crossed the center line and collided with a 2018 Audi Q5 traveling in the opposite direction.
Police identified the driver of the Nissan as 31-year-old Sydney Jones. Jones was transported to a nearby hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.
A child passenger who was riding in the Nissan was also injured in the crash and taken to an area hospital for treatment. The driver of the Audi sustained injuries as well and was transported for medical care. Authorities have not released information regarding the severity of their injuries.
Investigators have not announced any contributing factors at this time, and no additional details have been provided about the circumstances leading up to the collision.
The roadway was impacted for a period of time as officers conducted their investigation and emergency crews worked at the scene.
