LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Authorities have identified the man who died early Monday morning after a traffic collision in Downtown Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and the county medical examiner’s office.

Officials say the incident happened at around 2:00 a.m. Monday, January 26, at the intersection of Hill and Fifth Streets. A pickup truck struck a pedestrian who was using a wheelchair in that area. Emergency responders were called to the scene, and the man was pronounced dead there.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as 60‑year‑old Curtis Hosea.

Los Angeles police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, and no arrests have been announced.

The LAPD has asked anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who has relevant information to contact the department’s traffic division as part of the ongoing inquiry.
