Carolynn Luce Obituary, Death – A woman from the Central City area died Tuesday following a two-vehicle traffic collision near Grand Island, authorities said. Emergency crews responded to a highway intersection shortly before 6 p.m. after reports of a crash involving a pickup truck and a sport utility vehicle. Officials said the vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when the collision occurred as one of them entered the highway from a side road.
The woman driving the SUV was transported to a nearby medical facility, where she later died. The driver of the pickup truck was also taken to the hospital and treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening. A young passenger in the SUV was evaluated as well and is expected to recover.
Investigators noted that safety restraints were in use and that impairment is not believed to have contributed to the crash. The incident remains under review as authorities continue to examine the circumstances.
